I don't see how you think this has anything to do the IP protocals?
Since you are using BOE log into SMP and try searching on that error... typically it a firewall issue:
- The Windows Firewall on the SAP BI server machine was blocking the requests from the client machine.
- A logon workflow requires a certain number of ports to be allowed access over the firewall to reach the CMS and further to the CMS database.
More likely a problem with the Remote Server connection to the BOE server than with BOE.
I suggest logging a case in SMP and get one of the Admin Team Engineers to debug the problem it you can't.
