Hi Albert,
You will need to talk with your Network Administrators. I would also recommend reading the "SAP Front End Installation Guide for Release 740", [HINT: Page 43], and the "SAP GUI Administration Guide" for the same release. All the documentation is contained in the DVD Media under the directory, "BD_NW_7.0_Presentation_7.40_Comp._2\PRES1\DOCU".
Have you completed Pilot Testing to ensure all necessary components have been included with your package. You need Functional Experts testing the application prior to roll-out. These would be your FI, MM power users etc.
Have you patched your Installation Server? The latest core patch 5 Hotfix 2 is available. See note 1053737. Ensure SAPSetup version 9.0.69.0 is applied as well. See note 1587566.
Are all of your desktops the same Operating System? This will impact your deployment package options. Have you decided on a Migration Tool? [System Management Server]
How are you going to throttle the delivery of your package? You do not want to stream 400 plus MB across your network all at once to what, 3000 desktops. Your Active Directory Administrator can help with this.
What JAVA version are you running on the desktops. Check out note 2103687 and talk to your BASIS Administrator. They may be very interested in this especially about the saplogon.ini content.
If you are using Office 2013 or higher do not deploy SAP Calendar Synchronization for Microsoft Outlook. This is only good for Outlook 2010.
How are you going to deal with local desktop security. I presume there is cyber security awareness and GPO's reside. Read the manuals!
There are a large amount of other questions that I can't address as your situation will vary those. Please talk with your network security, network administration, and SAP BASIS Team prior to deploying.
Cheers,
Dan Mead
